Almost every driver who feels confident behind the wheel, one way or another, had the idea to start making money in the transport industry. Logistics networks cover more and more territories, and transportation companies are constantly expanding their staff, attracting drivers with high salaries and an impressive social package Unfortunately, working in a taxi or cargo transportation requires a lot of documents, including the driver license of the required category, medical certificates and, of course, a qualification certificate, also known as Code 95. Such a document is valid for all EU countries and opens up plenty of employment options

It’s worth starting with the fact that a certificate of qualification is a mandatory document for employment in the transport industry, and when applying for a job, you need to take care of its acquiring yourself or use the courses provided by the employer, if there is such an option Even working on the “gray” side, the absence of Code 95 will lead to considerable fines for the driver, and even more serious financial and legislative consequences for his employer, so it’s better to stop on the fact that the certificate is exceptionally mandatory From the legal point of view, obtaining Code 95 confirms that the driver has completed the necessary specialized courses related to the transportation of passengers and goods. Among other necessary skills, the driver who completed the course will learn how to: - Work with tachograph - Fill the CMR invoices - Navigate the law within the profession - Provide first aid to both the person and the truck - Deal with specialized transport - Plan and optimize your route

Obtaining Code 95 and how much time and money a driver will spend on the courses depends on his experience, or in legal language - on the date of first obtaining a driver's license of the corresponding category Drivers who have obtained the license of categories D1, D1+E, D, D+E, C1, C1+E, D, D+E before September 10, 2009, in order to obtain a certificate, must complete only a general 35-hour course worth from PLN 350 to PLN 700 (depending on the school) and due to experience are exempted from the exam Drivers who have obtained the license of the relevant categories, but already after September 10, 2009, will be required to take a total of more than 100 hours of qualification courses of various levels, the price of which can reach up to PLN 3,000 (depending on the school), and to confirm their completion, they will need to pass both theoretical and practical exams Drivers who are just getting their first license will have to go through an almost 300-hour comprehensive training course as well as exams, and the price of such a course can reach up to PLN 7,000 for an accelerated 140-hour program and PLN 4,000-5,000 for a full one, respectively There are many private and public institutions that provide the opportunity to complete Code 95 courses and pass the corresponding exams, but when choosing, you should first of all pay attention to the price, as it is worth taking advantage of the opportunity to save money, if any, and the availability of accelerated programs that allow you to get a certificate faster and means to get to work faster

A qualification certificate obtained in a non-EU country, unfortunately, will not be considered valid, but on the other hand, some schools offer such drivers to take a few days course and then proceed to the exam and get the European Code 95 as soon as possible After passing the exam for a certificate, it will be valid for the next 5 years, and can only be canceled in case of serious offenses. Some employers may demand you to retake courses at a “trusted” school, but having a margin of expiration date on the already received Code 95, you are not required to do this, which means that such a requirement is considered illegal To get a job in the transport industry, unfortunately, Code 95 and a driver license is not enough, since it is necessary to additionally reissue a driver's license as a European one, pass a medical commission and psychological tests.
