"Uniting for Ukraine" is a program that allows you to obtain a permit to enter the USA. It is issued to Ukrainian citizens for 2 years with the right to submit documents for employment in the USA.

Overall, you are five steps away from obtaining humanitarian parole:

- Documents preparation. The US sponsor submits the Declaration of Financial Support to USCIS via the online portal "myUSCIS".

- Filling out the forms. After the sponsor has shown sufficient financial support, a letter will come in the mail and you will have to register your account at myUSCIS.

- Vaccination. In already created a "myUSCIS" account, you will have to present proof of three vaccinations - measles, polio, and COVID-19. If any of the list is missing, you will need to be vaccinated.

- Waiting for an entry permit. If all requirements are completed correctly, you will receive a notification on your myUSCIS account that your application for entry into the United States has been approved. The letter is valid for 90 days.

- Obtaining humanitarian parole. You will need to go through U.S. Customs and Border Protection and pass a biometric check. If there are no questions during the check, this means that the humanitarian parole will be approved immediately and you can stay in the United States for up to two years with the possibility of employment.

The “U4U” program is available to anyone who has been living in Ukraine before 11 February 2022. But there are certain requirements and conditions for an applicant to obtain a permit to enter the United States:

  • A candidate must be a Ukrainian citizen, with a valid Ukrainian passport or be an immediate family member of a Ukrainian citizen;

  • It is necessary to find a sponsor in the USA;

  • It is necessary to complete a full course of vaccinations and other health requirements;

  • A person wishing to enter the U.S. via the “U4U” program must pass a security check.
