Service Description:

Moving to another country, and especially an emergency one, will always be associated with a lot of difficulties and nuances that must be taken into account. This is especially viable for families who moved with children of preschool age, since it is rather difficult to deal with daily chores with a child in their arms For a good parent, the first priority will be to enroll your child in kindergarten as soon as possible so that he can socialize, endure the move more easily and free up your time in favor of more pressing matters.

Kindergartens in Poland are provided for children aged 3 to 5 years, with the last year being obligatory, as it also serves as a preparatory course before elementary school Children of immigrants or refugees are accepted under the same conditions as Polish ones, therefore, both the registration procedure and the nuances associated with it put everyone on an equal footing The allocation of children to kindergartens and the satisfaction of related requests is the responsibility of the district municipality. The branch to which you should apply will be the closest to your registration address, and you can apply both in person and in the form of an electronic application Kindergartens are open from Monday to Friday from 7-8 AM to 18-19 PM, and information about extended day groups should be obtained directly from the management of a particular kindergarten

Theoretically, any state kindergarten in the area where you are registered is obliged to provide a place for your child, but with a small caveat - if this place is available. Parents unfortunate enough to arrive in the middle of the year may experience some difficulties with finding a place, so it's important not to miss out on the remaining opportunities One of those will be an application to the district municipality with a request to provide a place, after which within a few days you will be offered one or more options to choose from The method of registration depends on the particular institution, but most offer both electronic and personal registration forms, so it makes sense to pay a visit and communicate personally with the director and staff After pre-registration during the first week, the child will attend the kindergarten for several hours in the presence of a parent, after which the director or head teacher will make a decision on enrollment, after which the child will be able to remain under the care of caregivers for a full day At the moment, Ukrainian and Russian-speaking kindergartens are very rare and the queue there can be filled for years ahead, on the other hand, mixed groups will help the child adapt faster and understand the basics of the language, which will definitely come in handy in the future

It’s worth starting with the fact that gardens are divided into public and private, which directly affects both the quality of the conditions and the price. The main difference between private ones is that an additional fee is charged mainly for circles, excursions and additional activities, as for monthly fees - they are about the same as in public ones. This contribution ranges between 200 and 400 zlotys (exceptions are possible both up and down), and covers mainly the costs of feeding children and maintaining a kindergarten itself (from color pencils to napkins). A detailed chart of costs can be requested from the kindergarten management, but the infamous "gray fees" also occur, and you should be prepared for this in conditions of demand for places In the case of each specific family, the city municipality will determine the number of hours that the child can spend in the kindergarten for free (the lower limit is 5 hours), so if you want to leave the child for longer, you will be offered hourly rates or a one-time payment It is also worth considering the possible costs of courses in which it makes sense to enroll a child, fortunately, each kindergarten will be happy to offer at least a few additional classes or activities to choose from, but preference should be given to language courses in order not only to help the child to socialize, but also to prepare to studying in Polish
